Sewing is the craft of fastening or attaching objects using stitches made with a needle and thread.

Lauren King, the president, started the sewing class in November, 2016. She enjoys crafting and sewing.  Lauren started sewing in High School in 1970, needlepointing (hand embroidery) in 1990, quilting in July 2015 making her first quilt for the birth of her granddaughter and 2017 machine embroidery.  She also published a cookbook in memory of the late Sis Leila Mae Crockett.

The “I Love You Sew” sewing classes are held at the Galilee Church of God in Christ.  Lauren has made 10 quilts since 2015 and counting.  She has also made numerous of other handmade items (pillowcases, tote bags, hand bags, pouches, kitchen towels and pot holders, etc.).  Lauren creates the sewing class newsletters that are published quarterly and distributed to our family and friends on our accomplishments and upcoming events.

Join us every third Saturday from noon to 4:00 pm. If you would like to contact us, please send email to [email protected].
